About

About Dr. A. Peter Salas

Triple board-certified Dr. Salas is a rare combination. He is an academically brilliant student of surgery, involved in pioneering research and publications. Just as importantly, he has a warm bedside manner and finesse, that cannot be taught.

Peter Salas, received his MD from New York Medical College and completed his plastic surgery training under the guidance of Dr. Ian Jackson, one of the fathers of plastic surgery. He was then chief resident on a general surgery fellowship on the Sinai Grace program, Detroit, MI; completed a hand surgery fellowship at the University of Washington, Seattle; a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the Providence Hospital Medical Center, Southfield, MI (where he was again chief resident); a microvascular surgery fellowship at the University of Washington, Seattle; and an aesthetic surgery fellowship at St. Barnabas Hospital Medical Center in Livingston, NJ.  Aside from his training in cosmetic plastic surgery, he is also trained in general surgery, surgical oncology, microvascular surgery, and hand surgery. This unique background has provided him with the breadth of knowledge and experience to treat even the most complex conditions.

Dr. Salas was named one of America’s top plastic surgeons by the Consumers Research Council of America and was listed in Vogue Magazine as one of the “Top Choices in the Tri-States”. He has earned the rare distinction of triple board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American Board of Surgery, and the American Board of Mesoplasty.

Dr. Salas is an internationally recognized educator, author, and lecturer in advanced techniques in cosmetic procedures. His cosmetic surgery training and experience have focused on minimally invasive (endoscopic), “scarless” plastic surgery which has resulted in the ability to minimize the incisions and avoid much of the scars that are associated with many surgical procedures.

The conveniently located offices in Manhattan, New York and West Orange, New Jersey offer the latest non-surgical modalities, including many lunch time procedures. In addition, surgical procedures of the face, breast, and body are safely performed at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan; Morristown Memorial Hospital, and St. Barnabas Hospital in New Jersey.
